The 3 Pillars of SEO

Hi I’m Ian Lloyd Director of Digital Operations at WMG and today we’re going to talk about 3 pillars of SEO.

Our theory of not just what is SEO but from a top line, broad level, how to carry out SEO campaign.

SEO Analysis

So first off, Analysis.

We look at you as a business and analyse the objectives that you have that you want to drive within your SEO campaign and those objectives funnel through to each of our pillars of SEO.

Site

So what are the pillars, the first pillar, Site. You will have a website that needs to be working for you in the search engines. So our technical SEO will deliver audits around navigation, your site structure and metadata. Those are the kind of things that we will do in our site audit.

Words

Second thing is Words, the content on your page. Google and search engines are text readers and so they fundamentally analyse the words on your page to deliver you in the search results. So we need to make sure that we’re pulling through from the analysis and your marketing objectives and business objectives, the right words into the site.

Authority

And the third pillar is authority and this is where Google has really stepped the game up for search engines, delivering their page rank algorithm. This measures authority and who should be higher or lower in the search engine, so that can be things around links, page rank, but also these days, its around social, google+, its around citations and its about building authority for you as a brand and as a business so that you are delivering results, through the analysis that we have measured.

SEO Analysis

And then finally, analysis again. After we’ve made all of these changes, we’ve structured your site, the words are correct and we’re building authority, how are we achieving and how are we funneling that analysis back into our three pillars.
