Choosing a local charity to support each year, through a regular calendar of events all fundraising efforts for our chosen charities are matched by the Group, doubling the support.
For 2019 we’re proud to support Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Pancreatic Cancer UK
A disease which is tough to diagnose, treat and research, Pancreatic Cancer UK have made it their mission to ensure that each and every person affected by the disease gets the support they need. Providing expert, personalised support as well as funding innovative research to find breakthroughs that will change the understanding of pancreatic cancer, they campaign relentlessly for change, for better care, treatment and research.
In the name of Charity…
From adrenaline pumping antics to sweet tooth craving bake sales, we’re something for everyone when it comes to fundraising efforts. Examples of what we’ve done in the past include:
- 3 Yorkshire Peaks – A strenuous hike up and then back down the Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough peaks, a tiring and achy day compensated by some beautiful Yorkshire scenery.
- Colour Rush Run – 5k run, you can either do the running or volunteer to throw the paint!
- Trekfest – A 27-mile challenge trek with plenty of sore muscles and blisters to prove it
- Skydive – Not for the faint hearted, a few hardcore adrenaline junkies ‘threw’ themselves out of a plane, all for charity
- Great WMG Bake-Off – We certainly have some Mary Berry challengers here at WMG, many a tasty treat available for your mid-morning, mid-afternoon, early morning (there’s no shame here), lunch time or ‘quick before you go’ snack, in return for a small donation

Always well supported thanks to the enthusiasm of our amazing staff (sometimes at the sheer delight of an excuse for fancy dress!), we work hard to encourage participation to raise funds for this worthy cause.
Christmas Jumper Day
A firm favourite as the festivities approach, for Save the Children WMG don their finest (and in many cases hilariously memorable) Christmas jumpers.
Sport
Relief
We use ‘sport’ loosely here… we try to make sure there’s something everyone, from the fitness fanatics to the self-professed couch potatoes! Time to get active and raise a bob or two for Sports Relief!
