Coasts And Castles Charity Cycle Challenge

WMG is delighted to be supporting the Coast and Castles Cycle Challenge, a grueling charity event happening in June 2016 and taking ten riders from Newcastle to Edinburgh in support of Ward 94 Teenage Cancer Trust unit at St James’ Hospital, Leeds.

The cycle challenge, covering more than 200 miles over a three day period, was co-founded by Mark Moore, director of BedzRus, after his son Dom was diagnosed with an extremely rare blood condition known as aplastic anaemia.  Put simply, his body does not produce enough new blood cells and this leaves him at risk of serious infections and uncontrolled bleeding. After three and a half months in and out of hospital he is now preparing for a bone marrow transplant.

Mark Moore said: “The ward where Dom has been receiving his treatment is staffed by an incredible team of specialist nurses, and their work is complimented by the tireless dedication of the TCT team. Their role is to create a safe, welcoming and warm space which distracts teenagers from the reasons they are there. This support is only made possible through the hard work and dedication of the Teenage Cancer Trust.”

You can support the Coast and Castles Cycle Challenge and the Teenage Cancer Trust by donating along with WMG at the challenge’s JustGiving page.
