With regular socials & events to look forward to, it’s not all work & no play. We’re a social bunch with a whole committee devoted to ‘bringing the fun’!

The Festive Shindig

Not to be missed, the WMG Christmas Party is a formal affair taking place at one of the many luxury hotels in Harrogate and surrounding areas. With our glad rags on, we enjoy a feast fit for a king, tasty tipples and a raft of entertainment, all thanks to WMG.

Awarding Efforts

Twice yearly we hold an awards ceremony recognising efforts and outstanding performance across departments. With prizes up for grabs and a number employee voted awards, it is highly anticipated occasion and a cause for celebration.

Off To The Races

Our annual trip to the races, typically held at Wetherby, York or Doncaster, is a great way to wind down and get to know your colleagues whilst enjoying a couple of glasses of fizz and a flutter on the horses!

Summer on the Stray

We’ve drank, eaten and in some cases, got sunburnt, on The Stray parkland within Harrogate. Copious BBQ food, summer tipples and partaking in some ‘friendly’ rounders and cricket… what more could you want from a summer party!

Segway Supper

An outing to the Ripley Castle saw us hitch a ride around the grounds on Segways as well as some highly competitive team games and a superb supper.

Bowling, paintballing and trips out are also usually found on the social calendar!

In the name of charity…

From adrenaline-pumping antics to sweet tooth craving bake sales, we’re something for everyone when it comes to fundraising efforts. Examples of what we’ve done in the past include:

  • 3 Yorkshire Peaks – A strenuous hike up and then back down the Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough peaks, a tiring and achy day compensated by some beautiful Yorkshire scenery.
  • Colour Rush Run – 5k run, you can either do the running or volunteer to throw the paint!
  • Trekfest – A 27-mile challenge trek with plenty of sore muscles and blisters to prove it.
  • Skydive – Not for the faint hearted, a few hardcore adrenaline junkies ‘threw’ themselves out of a plane, all for charity.
  • Great WMG Bake-Off – We certainly have some Mary Berry challengers here at WMG, many a tasty treat available for your mid-morning, mid-afternoon, early morning (there’s no shame here), lunch time or ‘quick before you go’ snack, in return for a small donation.
